Why "Boston Michael" living in California?

A question that I'm asked frequently...

The short answer is --the native Californians tagged me with the nick name "Boston" the minute I opened my mouth back in 2000 and they never let up.

When I moved to California in 2000 I somehow landed in Compton and lived there for almost a year. Huh??? That’s right – I was born in Chelsea, MA move to Revere for basic training and completed my Special Forces infantry training living in just about every part of Boston (including our “Southie”) . So I can say I was well seasoned and no stranger to the streets and Compton seemed like a great place to begin my “Great California Adventure”.

Besides the culture shock, machineguns fire every weekend, and the helicopter shows I figured I was living at the top of the food chain as far as living in Los Angeles. Hollywood was defiantly la la land compared to this.......................... so right from the start I got my name tagging here…
“Boston… Straight Outta Compton” ......by my co-workers in Santa Monica.
